Words to Change Your World

* Here is a fascinating concept I am currently working on in my own life from a book I highly recommend, The Art of Possibility by Ben & Rosamund Zander… on the whole, you are more likely to extend your business and have a fulfilled life if you have the attitude that there are always new customers out there waiting to be enrolled rather than that money, customers, and ideas are in short supply. You are more likely to be successful; overall, if you participate joyfully with projects and goals and do not think your life depends on achieving the mark because then you will be better able to connect to people all around you. On the whole, resources are likely to come to you in greater abundance when you are generous and inclusive and engage people in your passion for life. There aren't any guarantees, of course. When you are oriented to abundance, you care less about being in control, and you take more risks.”

“When all you see is a roadblock in your life, God sees the interesting side roads you might take to get around it.”

“When you see a thankless routine, God sees the fruit of your faithful life.”

“ A friend is devoted and dependable. Her destiny is to divert you from defeat, and her devices for depression usually involve the delicious. It’s a friend’s divine duty to drown your disappointments and dispose of your dismay, and many times she does it in the most delightful way!”

“Friends possess remarkable keys. They open the locked doors in our soul. They give us entrance to places we’d never dare go by ourselves.”

“ Don’t be afraid to write on your hand if you think you might forget something.”

“The greatest thing any person can do for another is to confirm the deepest thing in him, in her---to take the time and have the discernment to see what is most deeply there, most fully that person, and confirm it by recognizing and encouraging it.”        Martin Buber

“Friends create breakthroughs. The best ones are agents of God. Like Him, they stand us in front of the mirror and introduce us to ourselves.”

“Give people as many chances as it takes to get it right—Jesus did.”

"Once upon a time I tasted your life; and to this day it feeds my soul.”

“ I may not leap tall buildings in a single bound, but thanks to you, I am not afraid to try.”

“A woman is a thinker, a dreamer, a weaver of tales, a poet, a prophet, and a princess. And because she was made in that holiest of all images, the thoughts from her HEAD, the love from her HEART and the work from her HANDS fall to us as faithful reflections of Perfection.”

You look inside and see the unfinished project that is your life…but that is not what God sees. God sees the untapped potential that trickles deep within you like a stream on the floor of an ice-bound river. When you see yourself as insecure, God doesn’t. He sees a sensitive woman with a rich capacity for empathy. And when you stare into the mirror of imperfection…God sees the etchings of his artistry; designs he drew so that you could be you.

Remember no sin God himself has chosen to forget. Satan records our wrongs, but the Savior erases the tape.”

" We wear hats on bad hair days, hide broken fingernails, dump sour marriages and avoid hospital visits. It’s funny when you think about it. We’re born into a cracked up, broken down world. You’d think we’d feel more at home in it. Jesus did. Of all people, you’d think he’d have a problem with anything less than perfection. But Jesus seemed attracted to it! In fact he made it pretty clear he hadn’t come to visit the neatly put together types. The sickly, unseemly ones drew his attention. Christ let everyone know how he felt about blind eyes, deaf ears and broken hearts.”
Caron Loveless

"
Yes, the Father knows every unfaithful act, unthinkable deed, and unwholesome thought. He despises sin. But he’s devoted to you. Look at his hands. You’ll find no stones to throw or ax to grind only grace to give. No, you can’t undo what’s done, but you can do this: From here on out, copy Jesus. Cast no stones. Condemn no sinners. And clear your path of those who do. Then go and sin no more.”
Caron Loveless

“Receive the wow of now. Open up. Welcome its presence. See what is there, all the sweet, juicy, fresh possibilities.”
Caron Loveless

“We need to think about the impact we have on people under and over us. Probably the greatest gift God has given any of us is the ability to change lives by our actions or what we say.”
Truett Cathy

“ You never know when a moment and a few sincere words can have an impact on a life.”
Zig Ziglar

“What are you doing with your life that matters? What are you doing that will last forever?”
(Question that led Bill Hybels into full time ministry)

“Become a missionary of encouragement. Challenge the darkness one soul at a time. Reject the mentality that says the needs in this world, my town, or my family are insurmountable. As you go about your day, focus on individuals. Use words to scatter hope!
Caron Loveless

“We wish to have you serve your generation and do good in the world and be useful and may you behave as to gain the esteem of all virtuous people…but especially that you may so live as to obtain the favor of the Almighty God and his saving grace in this world and a saving interest in the merits of Jesus Christ, without which no man can be happy.”

Noah Webster’s parents  (the day he left for college)

“Just as Christ did with the early disciples, he allows us to tag along behind him for a time, but sooner or later he will ask us to declare our intentions. He knows we are fickle followers, our right hands reaching for the Bread of Life while our left hands grab for the cookie jar. And though Christ is infinitely patient, at some point he will turn and ask us, “ What do you want?”
Caron Loveless

“How often have we kept silent when we could have spoken for Christ? How many times have we let a great opportunity slide, not out of fear or lack of love, but out of our own lack of faith that anything will result from it?…When this happens, we must shift the weight of our worry, placing the burden of success on God’s Word, not on our experience or our neighbor’s receptivity. Yes, we are the messengers, but the Word has a life of it’s own. And yes, we are the truth-takers, but the Truth can take care of itself. How freeing for us when we recognize that the unassisted Word of God is teeming with life.”
Caron Loveless

“ Your words pack a lot of power, so pray about counsel you give. Weigh what you say with Scripture. And as much as possible, base your advice on the Bible. Save “corrective counsel” for situations in which you’ve earned the right to speak or have a measure of authority. What you say does make a difference. The advice you offer could affect someone’s marriage or career. Start a trend. Agree to give a friend advice, but have him check with God first.”
Caron Loveless

“ It is not the price of the present but the heart of the giver that lingers the longest in our memory. God loves a cheerful giver. So live to give with a jubilant heart and your children will never forget you.”
Caron Loveless

“ As we let God tenderize our hearts, we will move more often to a place of empathy for others. One sign of compassion is tears, which are so highly prized in heaven that God himself has kept each one of yours in a bottle.”
Caron Loveless

“A child is formed in a womb void of light. Then at the appointed time, when the mother can hardly go on, labor suddenly starts and her baby is born. The birth of a baby brings hope. It shows us that out of our innermost darkness life will come if only we’ll wait for God’s timing.”
Caron Loveless

(In the valley) you won’t feel like singing. But sing anyway. Sing victory songs. Sing Valley songs. Sing to pass the night that drags like a wounded slug. Sing and then stop and listen. At first you might think you hear echoes or maybe an old mountaineer, but then suddenly you will recognize the sound. It is Heaven’s-Voice come to sing with you. Never mind that you do not know his songs. He has your songbook memorized. And don’t be ashamed of your singing. He sings to the tune of your heart.
